Possible causes of greyed-out or missing options on the SYI3 form:
Check here to see if yours is fully supported: http://pages.ebay.com/help/newtoebay/browser-recommendations.html If it's not fully supported, certain areas that worked yesterday may or may not work today, and what worked 10 minutes ago may not work now. No workarounds that I know of. Constantly clearing cache and history files sometimes helps. Remember, ebugs is constantly updating their code which used to support older browsers. Just because your older browser worked last week does not mean that it will work this week. NOTE: Win98 and WinME are no longer fully supported on ebay. If it has, ebugs will block you from making changes in certain portions of the selling form. They're nice enough to block you but not nice enough to tell you WHY they're blocking you. Non-functioning categories or a missing "schedule listing" option is often caused by an expired credit card. The selling module simply can NOT handle sorting through large temp files and will get wonky on you. In fact, it sometimes can't even handle temp files that were generated by the selling module itself! If you're doing several listings, clear cache and history files (but not cookies) periodically, it will alleviate a LOT of problems. Greyed-out categories are commonly caused by too many temp files. Can't change too many things if your auction has a bid. Nor can you change things if there's less than 12 hours to go on your auction. Check here for what you can/cannot revise and when you can/cannot revise your listing: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/questions/revise-item.html If they're running in the background, disable them, then login to ebugs, and then re-enable them when you leave ebugs. Also, firewalls will cause it to go wonky, check your settings or disable the firewall while listing in ebugs. Click on Tools > internet options > security > Trusted Sites > Custom Level , about 3/4ths down the list. ** NOTE: There are differences of opinions as to the effectiveness of a Java update. I have received both email and Live Help instructions from ebay to update Java in order to correct problems with the selling form. I have also been told by other forum posters that there is no Java in the selling form and that an update is not needed and may possibly change security settings. I have also seen forum posts where the Java update fixed whatever problem they were having at the time. I did update my Java and it didn't affect the particular problems I was having with the selling form, so it didn't help me at that time. It also did not change any security settings that I could see, so it also didn't hurt. The Java upgrade is your choice. |
